Our History

Our History

Since its establishment in 2003 SEARMS Aboriginal Corporation (SEARMS) operated under a Regional Management Model under the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO). SEARMS has played an integral part in the supply and development of Aboriginal housing opportunities in New South Wales, which closely aligns with cultural, community and family orientated principles.

SEARMS has been providing housing and support for the Aboriginal Community and now operates a property portfolio within a varied geographical area (Bateman’s Bay, Ulladulla, Moruya, Mogo, Bodalla, Narooma, Wallaga Lake, Yass and Queanbeyan).

South Eastern Aboriginal Regional Management Service (SEARMS) started as a Co-operatives that consisted of six Aboriginal Housing Providers as follows:

  • Batemans Bay Local Aboriginal Land Council
  • Budawang Aboriginal Corporation
  • Cobowra Local Aboriginal Land Council
  • Mogo Local Aboriginal Land Council
  • Ulladulla Local Aboriginal Land Council
